PT Batulicin Enam Sembilan – Batulicin (ANTARA) – The Tanah Bumbu Regency Government, South Kalimantan, plans to open an airplane flight route from Bersujud Batulicin Airport to Soekarno Hatta Airport, Jakarta.
"This discourse will be carried out to sustain and support the development of a new national capital on the island of Kalimantan," said Head of the Tanah Bumbu Transportation Service, Wisnu, in Batulicin, Monday.
He said that the airline that would serve prospective passengers from Batulicin-Jakarta was Garuda Indonesia with a Bombardier Jet aircraft with a passenger capacity of approximately 90 people.
Currently, the regional government has carried out more in-depth coordination with Garuda Indonesia, and it is likely that the operation will be carried out at the end of December 2019.
Meanwhile, flight trips will be scheduled three times a week, but for certainty the departure times will be adjusted.
On both sides, the regional government and the airline have agreed, but the obstacle is related to refueling aircraft from Pertamina.
"The latest information is that Garuda Indonesia is currently requesting Pertamina to align this program, and hopefully there will be approval," he said.
Other supporting facilities such as the airport in Tanah Bumbu are very adequate, making it very possible to operate jet type aircraft.
"Apart from that, the local government is also planning to open a new route between Bersujud Batulicin Airport and Juanda Airport in Surabaya using Batavia Airlines, but currently it is still focused on handling Batulicin-Jakarta flights," he said.
