PT Batulicin Enam Sembilan – KabarKalimantan, Banjarmasin – Haji Maming's extended family's concern for the world of education is extraordinary. It is proven that, through their social foundation, namely the Haji Maming Enam Sembilan Foundation, this family provides scholarships for underprivileged students from Tanah Bumbu. The value is also very fantastic, namely 1 billion rupiah. In collaboration with Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), the Haji Maming Enam Sembilan Foundation, launched a scholarship program for outstanding and economically disadvantaged students. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the H Maming Enam Sembilan Foundation Mardani  H Maming and the Chancellor of ULM Prof Dr  H Sutarto MSi MSc, Saturday (14/11) in Banjarmasin. Apart from that, ULM Deputy Chancellor IV Prof Dr Ir Yudi Firmanul Arifin also attended.

The commitment to cooperation between the H Maming Enam Sembilan Foundation and ULM actually emerged at the end of 2019. It was then followed up in concept discussions. However, it was temporarily stalled due to the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, including in South Kalimantan. The commitment was finally realized.

Mardani H Maming explained that the foundation in the cooperation agreement distributed Rp 1 billion in grant funds, allocated to 25 students from Tanah Bumbu who are studying at the largest university in Kalimantan.

"Each student receives a scholarship of Rp. 40 million for 8 semesters or a maximum of 4 years of study," said Mardani.

The General Chairperson of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP Hipmi) explained that the requirements for obtaining a scholarship are not complicated. First, they must be male and female students from Tanah Bumbu who study at ULM. "This applies to all majors, except medicine," he said.

Second, Mardani continued, male and female students have achievements in academic or other fields. Third, they are truly unable or have difficulty in financing education.

"With the scholarship assistance from the H Maming Enam Sembilan Foundation, the outstanding sons and daughters of Tanah Bumbu will not experience any obstacles in completing their education at the ULM undergraduate level," said Mardani.

Furthermore, Mardani said, the scholarship provided by the Haji Maming Enam Sembilan Foundation aims to increase the number of educated people with qualified intellectuals in Tanah Bumbu. "Later, their energy and thoughts can be contributed to the progress of the region," he said.

Mardani added, the Mardani Maming Enam Sembilan Foundation will always be committed to advancing the world of education in Banua, especially in Tanah Bumbu. "God willing, we are always committed to helping. This is just one of them," he said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yudhi Firmanul Arifin MSc welcomed and appreciated the commitment of the H. Maming Foundation in helping fund the studies of outstanding male and female students who are unable to afford it at ULM.

"We appreciate what the H Maming Foundation has done. This is a good commitment from the private sector, in this case entrepreneurs, to participate in encouraging the advancement of education. More specifically in producing graduates and intellectuals," said Yudhi.

The commitment and steps taken by the H Maming Foundation to help fund Tanah Bumbu students are worth emulating. "The more parties who care about education in Banua, the better," he concluded.
